Accessing Diagnostic Mode on GE UltraFresh Front-Load Washers
The diagnostic mode has two sections: consumer fault code and technician mode.
Consumer Fault Code:
- Preparation: Ensure the washer is plugged in and powered off.
- Activate: Press and hold the start button for exactly 10 seconds. All indicator lights will illuminate.
- View Fault Codes: The display will show a blinking number (fault code). Each number corresponds to a specific washer component issue.
- Navigate Codes: Briefly press the start button to cycle through displayed fault codes.
- Exit Mode: When finished, press the power button to turn off the washer and exit diagnostic mode.
Technician Mode:
- Preparation: Ensure the washer is plugged in and all indicator lights are off.
- Activate: Press and hold the start button while turning the cycle knob 180 degrees (one full rotation). Release both buttons when complete. The display will show a number indicating the active test mode.
- Select Test: Turn the cycle knob to choose the desired test number (refer to your service manual for a list of tests and their corresponding numbers).
- Run Test: Press the start button to initiate the selected test. Press the start button again to stop the test.
- Exit Mode: Press the power button to turn off the washer and exit diagnostic mode.
Using Diagnostic Mode
